I was born 9/11/1954 to Puerto Rician parents: Ralpheal Maysonet and Arcadia Ortiz Maysonet
I was the 8th child in a family of nine.
One of my earliest memories was my first day of school 1st grade because for some reason they didn't enroll me on time so I was home an extra year. LOL hehehe
My cuisine David Maysonet was the one who took me to school I went to PS 106 in Brooklyn on the corner of Cornelia St. and Wilson Ave. My first day of school my parents worked so David was assigned the job to take me to school. He saw how afraid I was to go to school he gave me a fifty cent coin and told me to hold it for him that he promised to be back to pick me up and the coin from school. I was sad but happy also because I knew he would be back for me.
I was not the smartest child in school. Spelling was always difficult for me. I had my brothers and sisters but there was so much stuff going on that I have such a vege recollection of things. My mom was sick for most of my life I think she develop Cancer when Bobby my younger brother was only 1 or 2 not to sure. But I remember my mother crying of how much pain she was in. She had a colostomy bag and boy I remember how bad that smelled. So Bobby is 3 years younger than me so I was 5 so I guess she wasn't working when I first went to school she was home sick already and no wonder why I went to school a year late. They use to tell me mommy like to have me home so I was kept home a year more before I started school and I never really tried to connect the dots. wow. So I was 5 and my mother already had Cancer a new decease with no cure.
